Netwrix Auditor for Active Directory auditing, Endpoint Protector for DLP

NETWRIX · Active Directory auditing · DLP · Data security

Kinetik Bilişim uses Netwrix Auditor to show who changed what in Active Directory, file servers and Microsoft 365, and Netwrix Endpoint Protector to show where data leaves the organisation.

Netwrix is a software vendor specialising in data security and access auditing. Its best-known product is Netwrix Auditor, which records changes in Active Directory and on file servers. With Stealthbits and CoSoSys joining Netwrix the portfolio grew, and the endpoint DLP product Endpoint Protector is now offered as Netwrix Endpoint Protector.

Kinetik Bilişim and Netwrix

We deploy Netwrix to answer two questions: 'Who granted this permission in Active Directory, and when?' and 'How did this file leave the organisation?' Auditor answers the first, Endpoint Protector the second.

Most DLP projects fail because of policy, not product: a rule that blocks everything on day one is switched off entirely on day two. So we start Endpoint Protector in monitoring mode only and switch on blocking rules once we have seen where data actually flows.

Covering outbound email DLP with Check Point Email Security and endpoint DLP with Netwrix means managing data's two main exit doors together.

Product family

  • Netwrix Auditor — audit trail and real-time alerts for changes in Active Directory, Group Policy, file servers and Microsoft 365.
  • Netwrix Endpoint Protector — endpoint DLP with device control, content inspection and enforced USB encryption.
  • Netwrix Password Secure — managing shared and privileged passwords in an enterprise vault.
  • Netwrix Data Classification — classification that finds where sensitive data lives; our product page is in preparation.

Which problems do we solve?

  • Active Directory accounts that keep locking out. The free Account Lockout Examiner tool shows which device causes the lockout; Auditor keeps a permanent record.
  • Permissions and GPO changes made without anyone noticing. Instant alerts on critical groups and a 'who changed what, when' report.
  • Data leaving via USB and personal cloud accounts. Per-device permissions, content-based blocking and logging.
  • The burden of proof in a KVKK audit. A documented answer from Auditor and Endpoint Protector records.

The question in a KVKK audit is not 'do you have a DLP product?' but 'who accessed this data on that date, and where did they move it?'. We configure Netwrix to answer exactly that.

How we work

  1. Discovery. Review of the Active Directory structure, sensitive data types and exit channels.
  2. Design and PoC. Two weeks of change recording with Auditor; Endpoint Protector in monitoring mode only.
  3. Deployment and migration. Alert rules and DLP blocking phased in department by department.
  4. Operations. Monthly reporting and policy updates — together with KVKK & GDPR Compliance.

Frequently asked questions

How do we find the source of an AD account that keeps locking out?

Netwrix's free Account Lockout Examiner shows the device and process causing the lockout — usually a service, mapped drive or phone still using an old password. For permanent monitoring you need Netwrix Auditor.

How does Netwrix compare with Varonis, ManageEngine ADAudit Plus and Lepide?

For mid-sized organisations we recommend Netwrix: it covers AD, file server and Microsoft 365 auditing alongside endpoint DLP from one vendor. Varonis usually fits larger, higher-budget data security programmes; ADAudit Plus and Lepide focus mainly on AD auditing.

Are CoSoSys Endpoint Protector and Netwrix Endpoint Protector the same product?

Yes. After CoSoSys joined Netwrix, the product continues under the Netwrix brand; existing installations move over through upgrades.

Does Netwrix monitor employee productivity?

No. Netwrix is not a productivity-monitoring tool; it tracks data movement, access and configuration changes.
